Think of this as the liner notes for the first song that I have ever written, recorded, and published to the world.
I am now left to await judgment. But you know me: "Done=Good".
I have been writing and refining this song for quite a while, squeezing it in during moments of stress, using it as a kind of steam valve for the modern corporate condition. And I work at Play!
The ways that people talk about business is not something to be taken lightly. Billions of us give our energy, our focus, and our love (or our angst) to organizations everyday.
As Play evolves yet again and grows in strength and stature, we can't ever forget that it's our way and our words that deliver change.
I hope to lay this down in a few tracks with some better sound soon, but cheers to Apple's Garageband and factory-installed pinhole microphone.
I feel proud to join the ranks of hyper-individuals everywhere who are sharing their stories, insights, passions, and slight sociopathic tendencies.
Ben...ok, from someone who has always daydreamed of being a rock star (in-between dashed hopes of playing in the NBA or joining the League of Justice as the Flash)...I thought it...well...rocked. I could never do what you did...never.
You recorded a song brother...you wrote lyrics and played guitar...and it was cool (defined as keeping my attention longer than most tracks on most new albums.) Brilliant.
What blows me away the most is that I sat next to you at one of Play's Monday meetings a month back had no idea this was inside of you. Wow...people never cease to amaze me with what they are able to create...thanks for that reminder.
It begs the question, "what do we miss in the people around us if they never have the courage to share or we never create the space for them to do so?"
Thanks for having the courage Ben. Keep writing, strumming, and sharing.
