If you're unfamiliar with mindmaps, check out the Wikipedia entry.
I've been using FreeMind for a couple years now, but these two web-based mindmapping programs provide all the same features plus the ability to collaboratively edit mindmaps. Very handy tools for information sharing that would be easy to institute in any organization.

Mind42 is out of Beta now.
If you want to see all the web-based mind mapping apps, I have them nearly all at http://www.mind-mapping.org/web-based-mind-mappers/ Four pages of information about them. There are a few (MEADmap, Ekpenso, Widomap, etc.) that I shall be adding to the list soon, but info on all of them is available from the Refine Software List tab on the front page.
