Look what Uncle Steve brought us today:

The new iPhone will hit the shelves on July 11 for only $199 for the 8GB model and $299 for the 16GB model. Apple continues to pioneer content distribution, relying on exclusive third-party app distribution through the App Store, iTunes, and Ad Hoc to make their profits, which allows them to offer the hardware and the 2.0 software updates at such unbeatable prices.
In addition to the price drop, there are a number of other points to consider from the Reality Distortion Field:
-How does the new SDK free developers to think more creatively? One developer said that ”The SDK let ideas just fly out of [my] head.”
-How does Jobs' presentation style leverage the influential right brain? How does he inspire both consumers and developers?
-How does Apple effectively leverage corporate sponsorships?
-As Polaroid phases out its film, how can we think about using the iPhone as the ultimate LAMSTAIH device? Could we consider making our own LAMSTAIH application? Apple has made it easier than ever to develop proprietary, company-specific applications. I’ll volunteer to be tech consultant :-).
-How did they turn the "problem" of people hacking the iPhone into an opportunity for exploiting massive global demand?
-How have Apple and other developers come up with original uses of the touch screen and accelerometer to revolutionize the user experience?
-How does the new ad depart from the Apple ads of the past few years? How does it effectively utilize consumers' brand perceptions in an original way?
-Did Apple deliver all the tech jargon in a manner accessible to non-tech-savvy consumers (Christine)? If you're confused about anything, feel free to ask me in the office...

We're all over making the iPhone (or iTouch) the ultimate LAMSTAIH device. The GPS feature would allow us to upload maps and lenses directly to the device (saving paper, ink and printing fees, the camera would give the participants the ability to create digital records of their inspiration, and the memo/email/sms/etc would be a greast way to collect obsevrations and insigths in real time for further synthesis.
