With digital photography & photoshop making it easy to create “perfect” pictures, I found this little tidbit refreshing…(other than the fact that it can be the background on a credit card).



Napa Valley is “Bliss”
Quite literally. PC users will remember this image, Bliss, as the default wallpaper for virtually every computer they have ever seen. While this is not ‘news’ - I always thought it was a manufactured image. A Photoshop-styled utopia created to trick you out of reality: you stare at a screen most of your life. (At least us ‘Millenials’ do).
The truth: this is a photograph. Photographer Charles O’Rear took Bliss in Napa Valley. It is so effective it sparked a $200 million advertising campaign. It is also available as a Capital One credit card background if you are really that desperate.
