Christo and Jeanne-Claude, the artists widely acclaimed for their transforming monumental works of art using fabric, will be speaking at VCU on Jan 31st.

The artists do not accept grants, commissions, sponsorships or collaborations, as they place a high value on artistic freedom. They refuse all commercial involvement, instead funding their monumental projects with proceeds from the sale of Christo's original works of art.

They will discuss their current work in progress, "Over the River: Project for Arkansas River, Colorado," on Jan. 31 at Virginia Commonwealth University at 6:30 p.m. at the W. E. Singleton Center for the Performing Arts, 922 Park Avenue.
